iEarthquake Lite App Reviews

iPhone Version is LOUSY. iPad version is good.

Recent updates made this my favorite earthquake notification app! However, it is the WORST iPhone Quake app. iPhone app is NOT as configurable as the iPad version - so I have to back down to 3 stars until it is improved. I dont know why there is such a huge difference in configurability in the two versions. The universality of the app is not universal. The iPhone version is USELESS, WEAK, so I just deleted it and keep the app on my iPad.

Earth Quake Lite

Great app! Living on the west coast makes me appreciate this app a little more.

Great app!

Verry Helpfull!

Quick

Good, quick-reporting app. Makes it easy to keep up with quakes.

Very good app

I look at this app daily. Super simple to use. Interesting to follow the pattern of quakes across the globe

Appreciated

I appreciate this site a lot. My only additional thought is Im anxious for it to also alert for "high" tsunami alerts in my area.

Earthquakes

I live in California, I like it. Its simple and quick and easy to use.

Great App!

Tons of great info on many types of natural disasters. Not just earthquakes. Very useful and informative!

Very informative , accurate & easy to use. Very well constructed app!

Can’t Set Push Notification Threshold

When i try to set the push notification threshold the screen locks. It doesn’t go to another screen to select the level and I can’t return to the prior screen. Running IOS8.0.2 on iPhone 6. Want to set the threshold lower than 6 which is what the screen shows.

Good App

Early on, there were a couple of issues, but they were addressed quickly. The App is now bullet-proof and gives info quickly. Whether one lives in a fault zone, is a student of geophysics, or is curious about the world underneath our feet, this is a good App.

Please add this capability

This is a nice app but what it really needs is the ability to utilize the iPhone accelerometer to detect earthquakes and automatically share that data to the cloud and/or the USGS. Only when enough similar readings are detected from a certain region within a narrow timeframe would the data be considered legitimate and then be pushed back out to the map for all users to view. The app could also be active only at certain times of the day/night that the user defines. As well as only be active when connected to pre-defined wifi networks. Such as Home or work. Another option would be to only take accelerometer reading when it is plugged into power (such as when on your night stand or connected to a computer USB). The app could also use the iPhone GPS to disable sensor reading when moving. As well as only record seismic data when the app detects the iPhone is laying flat on its back. Another option would be to disable the seismic sensor data output when a face is detected with the front facing camera. Requiring the app to be running in the foreground would also further prevent false readings. This could easily, quickly, and cheaply create a huge network of seismographs around the world.

Great App

I like this app very much. I check it every day to see what new earthquakes have occurred and when and where. It also shows tsunami alerts, and has a fantastic map system.

Great

Without fanfare , tells me where every tremor , no matter how small ocurs .

Really enjoyable

I really enjoy checking out where there have been earthquakes! Including my own backyard.

Product User

This is a pretty good ap. I have experienced a few crashes but other than that everything been good.

Ok but mapping +3 years out-of-date

Fun to use, easy to navigate within app for an unsophisticated user. Need to update map option. Vacant land exists where buildings in my area are known to have existed for over 3 years. Update the map!
